Earlier this season, Villa managed to conquer the title defender at Old Trafford, and it was a well deserved win for them.

Today they play hosts to the Red Devils and are certainly hopeful of doing a repeat, and I suspect they can.

Villa are unbeaten in 8 games (5 EPL) but have drawn 3 of their last 5 EPL games. Mind you, the only one I would consider a bad result is the home draw to West Ham. Other than that, a home draw to Arsenal is still not bad, and an away draw to Spurs is even better.

United are on a 4-games winning streak (3 EPL) and are doing their best to keep the pressure on Chelsea. A slip up they cannot afford, but this game could prove to be a banana skin for them. They certainly are the side with more pressure on.

For more than a decade it was all Man Utd’s way when they went head to head vs Villa, but last season’s Old Traff9ord fixture proved a tight encounter (3-2 to Man Utd) and at Villa Park it was 0-0, earning Villa their 1st point vs United since 2003. This season they have already gone better, so Man Utd to be priced odds on is ridiculous at best.

Heskey is doubtful, but I expect him to play for some time. Warnock is also out injured along with Harewood and Reo-Cocker.

United are once again without Ferdinand (suspension) and Vidic (nerve problem). Also O’Shea and Hargreaves are out, but Scholes and Giggs should both be back after having been rested in the weekend routine win over Pompey (5-0).

It’s a battle between a super attack and a stiff defense. United racked up 15 goals in their last 4 games, while Villa kept 3/3 clean sheets.

I don’t think that Villa will lose this game.
