BBC Sports personality award, Surprise on the cards
The annual Sports Personality Award has seen a huge plunge recently on Ryan Giggs and this in turn has pushed out the odds on Jenson Button.
Now the thing is this Motor Racing never seems to be a shoe in when it comes to the BBC Sports Personality Awards and normally Button would be a given but when Lewis Hamilton cant do it it is hard to see why Button can,
But what of Giggs, it seems to be a phenomenon at the moment to give Giggs awards and no doubt there has been a push for him but it is hard to see how he can win the award even with a Man Utd fans coordinated voting campaign to get him the award.
The unfortunate thing this year from a betting point of view is the lack of well known Sports persons in with a shout in the vicinity, it has been a bit of a poor year on the high profile front.
That said the England cricket team did regain the Ashes but even in that there seems to be no ground swell of support for Andrew Strauss or any other cricketer.
Chances are that Button will win it and the odds of evens (2.0) with Ladbrokes could in hindsight look value but for us we will have a tiny punt on David Hayes.
Hayes won the World Heavyweight Championship and boxers tend to do well, previous winners include, Lennox Lewis Joe Calzaghe, Barry McGuigan and Henry Cooper with numerous placed.
Hayes is as high as 17/1 (18.0) to win with Bet365 and as low as 8/1 (9.0) with Skybet.
