For the last 10 encounters (extending over 5+ years) neither of these two has been able to conquer the other on the road. 3 draws occurred, and 7 home wins.

The last time Spurs did manage to beat Bolton at the Reebok was back in 1996. That is of course apart from the 2004 Carling Cup fixture that needed extra time to end 4-3 in favour of the Lilywhites.

Major doubts over Spurs form of late, or rather their motivation is low. Somehow I though they’d be tougher than that on the weekend and will not allow Wolverhampton to win AGAIN over them in the same season. How far off base I was.

Spurs are also winless in 3 league games, although they did beat Leeds away in the replay of their FA Cup fixture in the middle. Bolton are also winless in 3, so –on recent form- these two are well balanced.

For the last 10 games of Spurs on the travel they lost to Arsenal, Man Utd, Liverpool and finally Wolverhampton (does that complete the BIG FOUR)??? They managed draws though at such places as Villa Park, Goodison Park, Craven Cottage and St Andrews, all of which are considered tough places to visit, while they only won over Blackburn and Leeds.

Bolton only lost to Arsenal in their last 9 home games, but the toughest opposition they had were Man City and West Ham in the other 8 games, so you could say they are good but not great at home, as they stand at 3-5-5 at home in EPL this season.

Enough yapping already. Bolton are good enough to get at least a draw here, and Spurs are good enough to accept one and force a replay at home (although I’m not sure it will be to their advantage these days).

The Trotters have a lot of missing in their squad, including both on-loan players Weiss and Wilshere, Gary Cahill, Klasnic, Davis and McCann (1st time in ages the BBC won’t list one of the O’Brien brothers as an absentee though)

Redknapp is doubtful about Michael Dawson and Ledley King. His central defense area will suffer greatly if these two are out. He already has an army of defenders on the injury list or are cup-tied. Modric also out through illness, but at least he will play Palacios and Crouch from the start.
