Chelsea favourites over North London rivals to land Dutch superstar
Former Dutch skipper Wesley Sneijder may enjoy a glorious friendship with his former Inter Milan manager Jose Mourinho, but the bookies do not believe that the duo’s relationship will be a strong enough factor to convince the Portuguese tactician to swoop for the player this summer with his current club Galatasaray having placed a 15 million euro price tag on his head.
Sneijder, who joined the Turkish giants from Inter in the winter for just 7 million pounds, has failed to settle down in Turkey, and is being tipped by the media to leave the club in the summer. However, there is a much greater likelihood that the 29 year old Dutch international will look to play himself into some form this coming season and not want to risk leaving a club where he is a certain starter for a place on the Chelsea bench, with youngster Juan Mata, Oscar and Eden Hazard certain to get the nod ahead of him.
Chelsea have been given 4/1 (5.00) odds of signing the player, while their London rivals Tottenham and Arsenal are at an even more unlikely 10/1 (11.0).
