An all Premiership… oops! Seems a long time since Derby WERE a Premiership side to be reckoned. Now they’re merely trying to hang on to their Championship status lest they slip further down the English league divisions.
Brum –of course- are one side that has surpassed expectations in EPl this season. Most would have expected them to struggle after they got promoted back, but instead they’re in the top half of the table.
The defeat to West Ham is not the end of their world, and they certainly still have a fair chance of a top half finish, and probably even put a good run for a top 6 finish with a little luck.
At home, Derby never managed to beat Birmingham in their last 5 H2H meetings (0-3-2). They had only won once in the last 8 (1-4-3), and overall they are 1-4-5 vs Brum anywhere from their last 10, so I guess the H2H also says Birmingham to win.
Derby did conquer Newcastle in the midweek Championship clash, and they’re likely to use the same XI starters here, but I suspect this will backfire as it was a big game vs Newcastle and the players may feel a little bit exhausted.
Brum will enjoy the return of Benitez into their starting line-up, and it looks like Birmingham are injury-free at the moment.
The odds on the away win are too good to be missed. Birmingham ARE on a good form overall, and they should be able to progress in the FA Cup, especially faced by a side they usually do win against.
