The battle to top the winter Olympics Gold medal table is heating up with the USA steaming off in to an early lead with five gold medals as of today February 18th

Germany are second along with Switzerland and Korea on three gold medals while Canada, France, China and Sweden all have two gold medals apiece.

Even though the USA leads the gold medal table they are not in fact the favourites, they are not even considered second favourites, it is in fact Germany who head the betting with Canada a close second.

From a personal standpoint the odds on Canada look value, they are expected to pick the most gold medals up over the last five days of the Olympics and are more than happy with the two they have garnered so far.

Whatever happens it looks like it will be a close run thing.
