While there are only minor rumbles of discontent at the perfromance of Kenny Dalglish as the Liverpool manager that could change if results do not improve soon and based on lasts nights perfromance against Bolton it is difficult to see things getting that much better any time soon.

Dalglish has a lot to answer for, it is his management skills that will come under the microscope if the Liverpool players do not perform better than they have been doing and it is Dalglish that has to carry some of the blame for the signings made since he took charge of the club.

The bookies already have a market up on who will be the next Liverpool manager and that should come as no surprise, even to the most ardent Dalglish admirer, given the performance of Liverpool this season and it is Martin O’Neill, the new Sunderland boss, that predictably leads the market.

Stan James go an appalling 2/1 that O’Neill will replace Dalglish, Skybet go a far better 4/1, however in both cases O’Neill is the favourite.

Skybet make Chelsea boss Andre Villas Boas as second favourite along with Jose Mourinho, who is also second in the betting with Stan James.

It is Mourinho that is the most interesting candidate, he has stated his admiration for the Anfield outfit in the past and the timing could be spot on come the end of the season, especially if Real Madrid win La Liga and Liverpool fail to qualify for the Champions League.

It is probably too early to even be considering Dalglish leaving Liverpool, but that scenario is not too far off if things do not imporve soon.
