Listening to the boos flooding from disgruntled Arsenal fans at The Emirates after this afternoons loss to Man Utd gives a clear indication that the Arsene Wenger era at Arsenal may not have long left and when that occasion does come about the question will be, who will replace the Frenchman?

The bookies make Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola the favourite, Stan James and Paddy Power are going 5/1 on the Spanish genius though Skybet are going a more realistic 14/1.

Second in the betting is Reme Garde, the current Lyon manager and former Arsenal defender at 10/1 with Skybet, then comes all the usual suspects of Guus Hiddink and Jose Mourinho, 14/1 and 16/1 respectively with Stan James.

A surprising inclusion is Swansea boss Brendan Rodgers, he reminds one of Owen Coyle, who last season was considered one of the favourites, though Rodgers style of play certainly does fit Arsenals.

It is unlikely that Wenger will quit mid season, even more unlikely that he will be fired and so the chances of this market being relevant any time soon is minimal, but and it is a big but, Wenger will only put up with so much abuse and if the fans to become too reactionary the board may have very little option but to offer Wenger a move upstairs.

A few more losses and the future of Wenger at The Emirates could become a very hot subject indeed.
