The Hammers are winless in 6 games (5 EPL) and it’s no wonder they are down to 18th and inside the relegation zone. They seem to have problems finding the net, and Zola sure did the right thing shopping for some strikers in the winter transfer window.

Still it has yet to reflect on their results, although they came close to securing a point at Burnley in the weekend.

Both new signings Mido and Ilan will probably get starting roles today, as Benni McCarthy -also a new signing- sits out with an injury.

Brum are not only a tough home outfit, but are also better than most on their travels. They’ve collected 14 points on the road from 11 games, which as many as Man City have collected in 12, and one less than Liverpool have collected also in 12 away games.

Unfortunately they will have to field a slightly changed starting XI than those who have started for the last 13 games, as Benitez is out injured. Phillips or Fahey to replace him, but I say Phillips earned his place with 2 goals scored in the weekend vs Wolves.

This one looks like the game to avoid betting on this midweek, as it really could go either way, but must say West Ham deserved something for their 2nd half efforts vs Burnley last weekend, so maybe they are due a change of fortunes.

I am backing the home win, but half heartedly and not with much stakes.
